Welcome to the first Top 5 list of the 2025 season! These are the 5 best teams in the NFL after Week 1. Is your team in the Top 5? Read on to find out!
5. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens lost in a come from behind victory by Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Already a contender for game of the year, Lamar Jackson and company dominated the Bills at home until a costly fumble by Derrick Henry changed the momentum in the Bills favor. A late punt gave Josh Allen and 2-days old teammate kicker Matt Prater the chance they needed to win the game. Still favored to win the AFC North, the Ravens face division rival Joe Flacco and the Browns this Sunday.
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2022, Baker Mayfield has been one of my most favorite players to watch on Sundays. His moxie and I-can-do-all-things attitude is why his teammates love him, the fans love him and the reason the Bucs have a real chance to make noise this season come playoff time. After beating the Atlanta Falcons in a pivotal divisional matchup, the Buccaneers head to Houston to face C.J. Stroud and a tough Texans defense.
3. Green Bay Packers
Who ever said the grass is greener on the other side, they were right. Micah Parsons made his debut with his new team and had an immediate impact on the game. The Packers were already favored by many to win the division but with the offensive firepower that is Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs and the addition of Parsons, the Pack have a legit shot to make a deep playoff run all the way to Santa Clara (the host city for the 2026 Super Bowl). Next up, visiting Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles embody the term, “Back to Business.” Hurts and the Eagles (which sounds like an 80’s garage band) offensive dominance was on display for the world to see last Thursday night. And though the spit seen around the world got Jalen Carter, one of the most dominate d-lineman in the league kicked out the game, the outcome was pretty much the same everyone thought it would be. The Dallas Cowboys lost a key player (see Green Bay above) and the season opener (to another team wearing green). Next up for the Eagles is a Super Bowl LIX rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
1. Buffalo Bills
Making every effort to avoid the Hard Knocks curse, Josh Allen lead the Bills in their comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens Sunday night, final score 41-40. And all you Bills fans who left the stadium early? Shame on you. You should know better. This is the reigning league MVP leading your team and that’s how ya’ll act? If you don’t know by now, this team never quits and will give all they have until the very end. Dion Dawkins, James Cook and Buffalo Joe hope to ride the Josh Allen train all the way a Super Bowl victory. Thurman Thomas would be so proud. Bills face Justin and the Jets at Metlife Stadium this Sunday.
